Tennis scholarships in USA
College Tennis remains to be one of the most competitive and highest levels you can play tennis in. College Tennis is a great option for students who just graduated from high school and still want to play tennis at a high level. The top schools at College Tennis have a very high level and many college tennis players have pursued a professional career after they college career with great success.
So how many tennis scholarships do universities have?
There are normally around 4.5 scholarships in a men’s university tennis team and around 6 to 8 scholarships in a women’s university tennis team. To get recruited as a tennis player it is important to have a good national ranking and a recruiting video.
There are many different organizations and sections in college tennis, normally the highest level would be D-I but there are universities and colleges in D-II, NAIA, and Junior College that have teams with a very high level.
ICAC recommend tennis players who like to study in the U.S. with a Tennis scholarship to apply so that they enter their first school year in the fall semester (August). This is to be better prepared both athletically and academically. The College Tennis season starts in the spring (Jan).So make sure you contact your potential universities in advance.
